Book Review: The Silver Kiss (DNF)
Perhaps it was just not the right moment for this book. After the sophisticated fantasy before, the simple prose and simple story just could not hold my attention. The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause is a pre-Twilight YA vampire story, and it is pretty short at only 198 pages. But unlike the previous books I've read this year, I found that any time I had a moment to read--during lunch break, or at home when I wasn't busy--instead of reading I would scroll Youtube. I did not like the main character; maybe I would have liked her more if I'd read this when I was closer to being a teenager, but I'm too far away from that age to really enjoy it.
I gave it until about page 63 before deciding it wasn't worthwhile to keep going. I've calculated I have far too many unread books to waste time on anything that doesn't hold my attention. Plus, I'm moving this year, and the more books I can get rid of, the less I have to pack and take with me.
So this is my first DNF of the year. On to the next book!
