Explicating Elle

Thank you, Sebastian Malloy

I'm a very small blog, and a normal day is one or two visits, maybe five, with between 17 and 23 being my biggest days. I'm okay with slow and not-so-steady growth, since I'm not here to make money or be influential, just to talk about story-telling and my life to anyone interested in reading. So when I logged on this morning and saw I had received over a hundred visits since I had left work the day before, I was a little gobsmacked. After some digging, I found that a very kind person had posted on his blog about one of my posts, and directed his readers to read my blog.

I'm still reeling from it all, honestly. I'm pretty invisible in real life (with the exception of my job, where I'm in charge) because I'm quiet and don't like talking about myself or the things I'm interested because I feel self-conscious and too nerdy for this world, and because I am less-than-average looking (my mom will disagree, but she's my mom). But here, on my blog and on Bear, I feel comfortable enough to talk, and it seems some people like what I have to say. And that's a nice feeling.

So, thank you, Sebastian. And thank you to everyone who came from Sebastian's blog (and from the Bear Discovery Feed and from Kagi and from all the other indie web blogs who have found their way here since I started blogging).

And if you did not come visit me from Sebastian's blog, you should check it out. He's a great writer.
