What's in my inventory (Bear Blog Carnival)
What is a Bear Blog Carnival? November's Prompt by Absurd Pirate
I'm new to the Bear Blog-o-sphere, and what better way to integrate in a new social platform than participating in something others are doing?
Absurd Pirate's prompt is, as they write, "[...] a mix of the Every Day Carry or "Loot Drop" internet trend, in which people can talk about what they care [sic] on their person every day, or what they would drop if they were a video game character and died." So. Here we go.
Elle's Inventory
- Analog wristwatch - silver, simple. Small enough not to be a bother.
- Hair tie - blond (I'm in between blonde and brunette), seamless nylon for painless removal, slightly stretched from use. Never leave home without it.
- Reminder bracelets x3 - Beads on stretch cord, "Intentional" in teal, "Intentional" in gray, and "Be Kind to Elle" in teal and gray. My way of reminding me of my Intentions.
- Sunglasses - Cheap, mottled pink and black frame. Usually worn on my head like a headband to keep my hair out of my face.
- Sony MDR-EX14AP wired earbuds - (Currently) White. The only kind of headphones I can tolerate.
- Purse/tote/backpack - Depends on mood and setting. Currently a bright yellow New Yorker tote I found at a thrift store. Other commonly used ones are a Barnes & Noble tote in dark green or dark orange and a black canvas tote backpack from Target that is tearing at the right shoulder strap.
- Cellphone - Normally a Motorola G Stylus 5G 2024, but it's in the mail right now coming back from repairs. Currently an AT&T Cingular Flex 2 flip phone for emergencies. My smartphone is supposed to be arriving today (thank goodness).
- Tablet - iPad 10th Gen. Purchased for use at DnD, shamelessly used for drama watching. In a heather gray felt sleeve for protection.
- Laptop - Macbook Air M1 2020 in rose gold. Not carried all the time, but most of the time. Used heavily for word processing, so much so that the E key is nearly entirely scraped clean.
- Pouch 1 - Barnes & Noble zipper pouch with Benjamin Franklin quote "Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing." Carries cords for phone, laptop, tablet, plus thumb drive, pinhole key, micro SD to USB-C and USB converters.
- Pouch 2 - Pale blue zipper pouch with bunny face and ears, purchased in South Korea. Carries pads and tampons.
- Notebook and pen - Every purse I own has a notebook and pen of various sizes and designs, so I am never without something to jot ideas down in. Currently a nearly full 6"x8" spiral bound notebook with stylized flowers and "Dare to Begin" on the cover.
- Wallet - Dark blue with black and brown bumblebees bifold. Includes drivers's license, debit cards for two banks, Barnes & Noble membership card, Sam's Club card, library cards for two libraries, AAA card, insurance cards, some receipts, a few hobby store discount cards stylized like Magic the Gathering cards, a laundry load's worth of quarters, and some change.
- Keys - On a red double-sided carabiner. Apartment key, car key (2013 Kia Soul, manual 6 speed), parent's house key (which I need to return since they just moved out of that house), Lego Spider-Man keychain (from my deceased brother), well worn Funko Pop Mini BTS Suga keychain with a broken off foot and paint rubbing off.
- Lip balm - Currently Burt's Bees Watermelon, but I have a different one in each bag.
- Random and sundry pens. A writer can never have too many pens on hand. Mostly ballpoint, mostly black, mostly .5mm, one or two fountain pens for when I'm feeling fancy.
- Work keys on a purple lanyard - Building key, cabinet keys, door badge, staff ID badge. My key and badge opens all the doors. Feel the power!
- A book - My security blanket. Never leave home without one. Even if I don't find time to read it, better safe than sorry. Currently Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier.
That was fun. Thank you for reading, and thank you Absurd Pirate for the prompt.
